There are so many problems that arise when you think scripture has to be God
speaking to us, and I don't think it is necessary at all. All that is needful
is that it relate true events and revelation. God hasn't forgotten how to
speak to us that He should rely entirely on a book translated from conflicting
manuscripts hundreds of years after they were written. You would think if that
were His intent He would have at least seen that the original manuscripts were
preserved.
Right! And if Jesus were the Only Way, you'd think He would have
appeared in a lot of different cultures, speaking to each in their own
language about their own problems.... (And occasionallly saying,
Elsewhere I have a different name.)
According to the Mormons, he appeared to American Indians after his Jerusalem
performance.
